The SOCOTEC Group has acquired Schollenberger, a company specialised in ground investigation services for ordnance detection. With this step, SOCOTEC doubles in size in Germany.
Schollenberger is the German and Austrian leader in ordnance detection on land and at sea. It is involved in major construction and infrastructure projects. In Germany, ordnance detection is a requirement for every such project.
Headquartered in Celle, Lower Saxony, 40 km north of Hannover, the company is headed by Boris Töller and Klaus Löhle. It employs 400 people at eight sites across Germany and two in Austria.
With this move, SOCOTEC becomes a powerful TIC* player in Germany and a trusted partner in the building, real-estate and infrastructure markets. With Schollenberger’s testing and ground investigation services, SOCOTEC is entering into a third activity. The new company will be a good addition to the existing consulting and inspection services in infrastructure (ZPP Ingenieure) and real estate (Canzler).
In Germany, the Group now operates from 17 locations, with 800 people generating more than €80 million in revenue.
This is an important step towards reaching the Group’s goal of becoming European leader in TIC* in the construction and infrastructure sectors by 2020.
