A new Group subsidiary has been established in Grande Baie, on the northern tip of Mauritius, in order to respond to the island's development needs better.

The teams on the island primarily undertake building technical inspection assignments that focus on the normalization of risks as part of the ten-year guarantee. To manage the substantial increase in the number of new buildings, the government of Mauritius tightened regulations by stipulating that the technical inspection has to be performed by an inspection firm.

The new subsidiary shall also develop the Group's other activities on the island. For instance, SOCOTEC's Infrastructure teams have already provided their expertise during the inspection of an engineering structure.

This new Mauritian subsidiary strengthens SOCOTEC's network in the Indian Ocean. SOCOTEC has more than 70 employees spread over four islands in the Indian Ocean: Reunion, Madagascar, Mayotte and, now, Mauritius.
