SOCOTECグループCEO Hervé MONTJOTIN氏に、日本における事業展開と今後のビジョンについてインタビューを行いました。
カーボンニュートラルへの取組やグローバル戦略の中で日本が果たす役割など、最新の動向と今後の展望についてご紹介いたします。



1. 今後5年間における日本でのSOCOTECの展開に対するビジョンをお聞かせください。

ソコテック・サーティフィケーション・ジャパンは、2つの領域(認証分野およびサステナビリティ分野)で構成されており、
それぞれ以下のプロジェクトに注力してまいります。
- 認証：環境関連およびセキュリティリスク認証を推し進めていきます。特に、水管理、水質、廃棄物管理、航空燃料といった重要分野を推し進めます。
 IT(情報関連認証)分野については、ISO 42001およびISO 27001認証への対応を強化し、さらに新たな認証分野へのサービス拡充を目指しています。
- サステナビリティ： GHG排出量、ESG評価、SSBJによる企業の環境パフォーマンスに関する非財務監査などの専門知識を統合し、
サービスを拡充してグローバルなプレーヤーを目指しています。
事前評価アプローチの一環としてのTCFDやTNFD導入アドバイザリーを進め、サービス価値とリーダーシップを強化します。
さらに、欧州でのSOCOTECの強みである風力発電設備の検査などの専門性を最大限に活用し、持続可能で最新動向に即した取り組みを進めます。

2. SOCOTECとして日本企業の2050年のカーボンニュートラル実現に向けた移行をどのように支援していますか。

当社グループは、脱炭素化に関する包括的なサービスを提供しています。
CO2排出量の算定、ISO14067および14068 規格に基づく製品カーボンフットプリント認証に加え、
顧客の排出量管理やカーボンニュートラルへの道筋づくりを支援するためのセミナー開催など、幅広くサポートを行っています。

3. 国際的な専門性は、日本企業の海外プロジェクトにどのようなメリットをもたらすのでしょうか。

認証分野では、世界中で建築物認証を実施できる国際的な監査ネットワークを活用できます。
環境分野においては、各国の現地リソースを活用し、GHG排出量算定、CSRDレポーティング、大規模なESG(社会・環境・企業統治)監査などのサービスを提供しています。

4. 日本チームに対して、直接伝えたいメッセージはありますか。

過去3年間、ソコテック・サーティフィケーション・ジャパンは著しい成長と収益性の向上を実現しました。

この成果は、市場の強さだけでなく、日本チームの適応力と、GHG分野においてSOCOTECグループの主要3拠点(日本・シンガポール・フランス)の
一角を担う力を示しています。
この重点分野は、SOCOTECが展開するサービスやグローバルな方向性と完全に一致しています。

過去3年間で、日本はSOCOTECグループの認証事業において、収益および収益性の両面で確固たる柱となり、東京オフィスの拡張はこの勢いの象徴です。
現在、シンガポール、日本、フランスの３か国が互いに競い合いながら業績を伸ばし、認証事業全体の強靭性と安定性を高めています。

日本チームは極めて好調なパフォーマンスを示しており、そのサステナビリティへの注力はSOCOTECの目的と完全に合致しています。
さらに、日本に強固な基盤を持つことで、特に欧米に進出する多くの日本企業に対して、より強い信頼性と高い評価を得ることができます。

日本は単なる成長市場ではなく、SOCOTECグループにとってグローバル戦略を支える重要な存在なのです。

1. What is your vision for SOCOTEC's development in Japan over the next five years?

 "SOCOTEC Certification Japan is structured into two departments (Certification and Environment), and we will focus on the following projects for each:
- Certification: we need to push ahead with environmental certifications, particularly in key areas such as water management, water quality, 
waste management and aviation fuel. 
- IT: we are actively developing ISO 42001 and ISO 27001 certifications, and we want to go further by developing additional certifications. 
- Environment: our ambition is to expand our range of services to become a global player, integrating expertise in GHG emissions, ESG rating and SSBJ extra-financial audits for corporate environmental performance. 
To strengthen our offerings and assert our leadership position, we are aiming for carbon credit certification and the implementation of the TNFD Taskforce as part of a pre-assessment approach. 
Finally, we must capitalise on SOCOTEC's expertise, particularly in wind turbine inspection, to ensure that our actions are sustainable and in line with current trends.”

2. How is SOCOTEC supporting Japanese companies in their transition to carbon neutrality by 2050?

 “We offer comprehensive services related to decarbonisation: carbon emissions calculations, product carbon footprint certifications in accordance with ISO 14067 and 14068 standards, and, more broadly, 
the organisation of seminars to support our clients in managing their emissions and defining a path towards carbon neutrality.”

3. How can our international expertise benefit Japanese clients in their overseas projects?

 “As a global player in Certification, we rely on an international network of auditors that allows us to certify buildings anywhere in the world. 
On the environmental side, we mobilise local resources to provide services such as GHG emissions calculation, CSRD reporting, and large-scale ESG socio-environmental audits.”

4. What message would you like to personally convey to our Japanese team?

 “We are very pleased with Japan's growth and profitability trajectory over the past three years.

This performance demonstrates not only the strength of the market, but also our teams' ability to adapt and take on a key role among the three main players in the field of GHG. 
This focus is perfectly in line with the services developed by SOCOTEC and our global trajectory.

Over the past three years, Japan has become a real pillar of our Certification business, both in terms of revenue and profitability. 
The expansion of the Tokyo office illustrates this momentum and strengthens our local presence. 
Today, we enjoy an excellent balance between Singapore, Japan and France, which makes our Certification business more robust and well-balanced.

Japan is performing extremely well and its focus on GHG is fully in line with SOCOTEC's purpose.
 In addition, having a solid base in Japan gives us a stronger foundation and increased credibility, 
particularly with the many Japanese players present in Europe and the United States.

Japan is not only a growing market, it is a strategic lever for SOCOTEC on a global scale.”
